Why Icinga?

Managing 17,419+ services in a distributed setup with two HA Master instances and four satellite instances is no easy task. Vodafone Spain evaluating other open source IT monitoring tools and found Icinga2 to meet all their needs.

They liked Icinga2’s high availability environment that was very easy to scale and had a nice web interface. In addition, they loved the ability to use their existing custom script checks.

Now, the team uses Icinga2 to monitor all their IT infrastructure, including physical UNIX & Windows servers, VMs, EMC data storage, URL checks, TCP ports, Certificates, and CIFS.
