SUSE provides unparalleled choice

SUSE Rancher unifies Kubernetes clusters to ensure consistent operation, workload management, and enterprise-grade security – from core to cloud to edge. It is the jack of all trades multi-cluster management tool, bridging the skill gap of your team involving Kubernetes.

Security is paramount for all users and businesses deploying cloud-native workloads, SUSE NeuVector tackles this problem with the only 100% open source, Zero Trust container security platform. With the ability to continuously scan throughout the container lifecycle and remove security roadblocks your organization will begin to maximize developer agility.

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) is a modular operating system that paves the way for IT transformation in the software-defined era. The lightweight and ultra-reliable OS helps simplify your IT environment, modernize your IT infrastructure, and accelerate innovation with an engaging platform for developers.

SUSE Projects

The Client:
MariaDB Corporation is the company behind MariaDB, the fastest growing Open Source database. MariaDB, with a strong history of community innovation and enterprise adoption, provides the most functionally complete open source database. MariaDB powers applications at companies including Google, Wikipedia, Tencent, Verizon, DBS Bank, Deutsche Bank, Telefónica, Huatai Securities and more.

The Challenge:
MariaDB supports transactional or analytical database workloads using MariaDB Server, MariaDB MaxScale and MariaDB ColumnStore, along with resources like services, support, tools and connectors that are valuable for production deployments. MariaDB is quickly becoming the database of choice to replace aging, proprietary systems, enabling government entities to be more agile, deliver expanded services and reduce costs.

The Results:
Open source delivers significant cost savings while serving as a catalyst for innovation within government agencies. More and more public sector customers around the world are using MariaDB to modernize their data infrastructure, and we are excited to work with Shadow-Soft to make it faster and easier for U.S. agencies to deploy production environments supported by the team building MariaDB products.

“At Shadow-Soft, we believe all organizations, government and private sector alike, should have access to open, modern, innovative tools without limitation, especially when it comes to technologies involving data,”

The Client:

A leading Geo-data specialist, collecting and analyzing comprehensive information about the Earth and the structures built upon it. The customer adopts an integrated approach that incorporates acquisition and analysis of Geo-data and related advice.

The Challenge:

The project began with education to assist the customer in learning and becoming proficient with Rancher and Kubernetes. The customer leveraged this knowledge to work with Shadow-Soft to architect and design a production-ready platform suited to their needs and requirements.

The Results:

Following the project training, architecture, and design phase, Shadow-Soft assisted the customer to implement the platform per the design. During this phase, the customer and Shadow-Soft team iterated the design to produce the first Rancher and Kubernetes environment deployed in the field.

The outcomes of a successful Go-Live Assistance project are:
• A team educated in the day-to-day use of Rancher and Kubernetes
• A design document describing in detail the architecture of customer’s Rancher Kubernetes environment
• A supported production-ready Rancher management system and downstream cluster, deployed per the design and implementing best practices

The Client:

The customer is a technology and software company, providing the world’s leading complete commerce ecosystem to businesses of every size. This unique, connected infrastructure serves every dimension of commerce, carrying billions of transactions every year—safely and seamlessly.

The Challenge:

Rancher Go-Live Services were performed as the up-front deployment process to set up the initial Rancher Kubernetes Clusters. Client standardized on Rancher as its container management platform as it embarks on a journey to containerization and has sought the expertise of Shadow-Soft to guide them toward production. Some of the specific areas in which Shadow-Soft assisted included the implementation of best practices for Rancher configuration, container usage, and security.

The Results:

The outcomes of a successful Go-Live Assistance project are:

  • A team educated in the day-to-day use of Rancher and Kubernetes
  • A design document describing in detail the architecture of Client’s Rancher and Kubernetes environment
  • A supported production-ready Rancher management system and downstream cluster, deployed per the design and implementing best practices
