Shadow-Soft seeks an AWS Cloud Consultant to join our consulting team.

As an AWS Cloud Consultant, you will work both individually and as part of a team focused on accomplishing a wide variety of tasks working with Amazon Web Services and related open source technologies. You will work on external customer projects using an array of open source technologies and an agile methodology to help customers establish or refine with best practices around cloud, automation and infrastructure. Some potential projects you could find yourself working on include: Administrating AWS infrastructures to ensure best practices around IAM Roles and Security, VPC configuration and best practices, Storage management, EC2 resource management, and helping our customers to leverage cloud native services including AWS AKS, Elastic Beanstalk, RDS, etc, helping our customers to refactor their existing applications and environments to help optimize their cloud based workloads improving on scalability and cost consumption. Success is measured by a combination of customer delivery utilization and training/certification.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related major
  • 3-5+ Years of work experience with Amazon Web Services
  • 3+ Years of Infrastructure work experience (leads to more SRE role)
  • 2+ Years working as a consultant
  • Experience with and demonstrable knowledge of core compute, storage, security, networking services and concepts within AWS
  • Understanding and Ability to Communicate an AWS well architected framework and cloud concepts
  • Strong understanding of Site Reliability Engineering and best practices within AWS
  • AWS Associate Level Certification
  • Experience with AWS native automation and pipeline tools such as CloudFormations, CodeCommit, and CodeDeploy
  • Experience with automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible
  • Experience with Containers and Kubernetes platform and/or development
  • Strong Linux System Administration skills
  • Experience scripting in Python or Bash
  • Up to 50% travel per year on average

Preferred Qualifications:

  • RHCSA or LFCS Certification
  • Experience and/or certification with another public cloud provider – Azure or GCP
  • Experience with other HashiCorp technologies
  • Experience with CI/CD methodology and tools
  • Experience with a programming language such as Python, Go, Java, or Node.js

Consulting Skills:

  • Ability to convert generic plans and requirements to architecture, technology, and best practices
  • Documentation and presentation of technical solutions and best practices
  • Experience working across interdisciplinary teams such as development, infrastructure, testing, and business functions
  • Experience working both independently and within client teams
  • Strong knowledge of general cloud concepts and familiarity with other public cloud offerings – Azure and GCP
